Save the Earth Testrun
((OOC: Human responses will come from
talk_like_a for icon purposes!))
[A]
[You're minding your own business, probably in a park, when a cat comes bounding by intent on some prey. A stray, maybe? But she's an awfully pretty one...
Well, it probably doesn't matter, right?]
Stop wiggling!
[--Wait. Did that cat just talk?]
[B]

[There's a young girl staring at the street with interest as the various cars pass by. But despite being at a crosswalk, she hasn't actually hit the button.
Instead, she darts out into the traffic, causing an uproar of horns and squealing tires. If your character is fast enough, they might be able to catch her before she gets hurt...!]
[C]

[You were probably in the middle of explaining something on the network when this girl chimes in, looking puzzled.]
What's a _____?
[It doesn't even have to be a particularly difficult or complicated word. Rather, it seems this girl isn't all that familiar with certain basic human concepts...]

This might have everything to do with the fact that by the time Otonashi grabs her, he's actually got a cat in his arms as opposed to that spacey-looking girl.
Uh?]
no subject
[Wait. WAIT.]
--o...kay...?
[He looks around as the truck scoots by, its driver blaring the horn at what now appears to be a redheaded teen and his fearless cat. Another car attempting to lay on the brakes, bumps him from the side and sends him toppling over, the cat still in his arms. At least the pair is... mostly on the sidewalk now. Sort of.]
Did I just witness vehicular manslaughter or... lose my mind? [Aaaand now people are staring. Fantastic.]
At least you're not dead...
no subject
Let me go!
no subject
U-um?! Okay, okay, need the nearest hospital, possible concussion, hearing voices come out of a cat...
no subject
WHY IS THE GIRL BACK NOW.]
What was that for?!
[Gosh her face is awful close to his.]
no subject
S-sorry, I think I hit my head... or had a really weird stress response. You wouldn't believe me even if I told you, so uh--
[Okay, imagining a cat? Fine. Obviously that had just been the girl talking, not the kitty. FINE. Getting yelled at? He's not letting that one slide!]
--hey, wait a minute! I was trying to help you, you were about to get--!
no subject
[Hmph! How undignified...!]
no subject
[He huffs, brushing the gravel off of himself.]
I wasn't grabbing you to be weird or anything!
no subject
[Miiko, that's not... exactly... how streets work......]
no subject
[WHAT.]
Miss, that's not what those lines mean... You didn't push the button on the crosswalk. Did you see that truck--?
no subject
[HER TEACHER TOLD HER SO THEREFORE IT MUST BE TRUE.]
no subject
[He points to said crosswalk, which is now adorned with a few new skid marks.]
no subject
[Gosh don't humans even know their own signals?]
no subject
Yeah, uh... That means it's okay to cross there when it's safe to do so! You need to press the button and wait for the signal. It's not always okay to cross.
no subject
What button?
no subject
[He points down at the button underneath the lit-up sign, which currently has an image of an open-faced, taut hand.]
But you should press this before you walk.
no subject
What's a pedestrian?
no subject
--If she were maybe ten years younger. Isn't she a high school student..?]
Uh... A pedestrian is someone who is traveling on foot near the roads. So if we're walking to wherever we're going, that makes us pedestrians. If we were driving, we would be... drivers.
no subject
[Hm.]
What if there's no button?
no subject
[He'll go ahead and push the button now.]
That means you should wait. It's-- a hand saying "wait."
no subject
But I want to walk.
no subject
[Just like that, the hand turns into a slightly hunched walking man.]
no subject
You go first.
no subject
[But he obliges and takes the first few steps out into the crosswalk. The cars slow to a crawl before stopping completely behind the lines, giving passage.]
no subject
As they pass by the cars, she actually glares at a few of them warily.]
